ABOUT US

Who Are We?

The UFHRD has been promoting HRD practice for more than 30 years. With links internationally, we aim to encourage cooperation and development of HRD-related topics, in both the academic and practitioner arenas, e.g. through our annual Conference linking one research stream to small-to-medium size enterprises.

We respect the past too. The late Alan Moon was an initial founder of the Forum, and its first executive secretary, and a champion of HRD. The Alan Moon Prize is presented in memory of him, and is awarded to the best paper at the Conference on HRD Research and Practice across Europe – a prize that encourages new researchers in the field of HRD.

This respect for the past and development of the future optimises the philosophy of the Forum.

Our Mission

  1. Develop the HRD Forum as a supportive international member network of shared interest to promote HRD as a subject and create, develop and inform leading edge education, research and practice that extends individual and organizational knowledge.
  2. Provide networking and collaboration opportunities, within the Forum and with partner organizations, to facilitate and nurture member development and enable research-education-practice linkages, through the annual conference and activities of UFHRD Committees and through collaborative partnerships.
  3.  Support the dissemination of international research, education and practice through associated journals and other appropriate communication media.

Our Vision

To provide leadership for HRD academic and professional practice, which promotes inclusive, ethical and impactful learning and practice in research, education and people and organisational development.
